That Awkward Moment I Make a Blog then Never Update

Oops! That awkward moment when I hype a blog I'm going to update... and then I don't.

Shame on me for sweeping this outlet to the side, because seeing as my friends and family are scattered every-which-where I should write more to keep you updated!

With that being said I have two announcements:

1. Facebook has officially forced me to change my name from Ladyy KFo to Katie Foley. However, in writing related news, I have decided that Ladyy KFo shall not die in vain and will become my alter-ego, pen name, and perhaps even my production company should I ever get the chance to create one.

2. In even more exciting news, I received my REJECTION LETTER from Warner Brother's Writing Workshop in the mail today! Hm, why is this exciting news rather than sad? It's exciting because I tried. And to be honest, I could not put my full effort into the spec script* I submitted because I had so much final semester schoolwork - needless to say, I wasn't expecting to get in (1,700 applicants for 10ish spots). However, it did allow me to receive the first concrete artifact to document my road to screenwriting! It may be a rejection letter, but it's on Warner Brother's letterhead, and it's addressed to me. You can't win 'em all - but you can have fun trying! ;)

Anyway, that's my little update for today. My script is going well, but I'm doing some reworking to the format so it's in a bit of limbo (note to other writers - never do this. Always write your way through a first draft. I just had to do such a radical re-write that it made continuing on impossible!).

Ta-ta and best wishes,

Katie / Ladyy KFo

* - spec script = a script of a show that is already on the air. If you are wondering, my script was for Modern Family and even though it didn't make me a finalist, I still think it's pretty good.

P.S. Congratulations to my BFF Tyler Jones for also getting a rejection letter. Friends who fail together, will prevail together... eventually!
